Daily Deviation (DD) Suggestions Guideline:

Note me with "DD suggestion" in the subject line
Post the note with the :thumbxxxxxxx: code
Include your reasons if possible
FEEL FREE to suggest yourself!
No restrictions
While all suggestions are looked at and considered, not all suggestions will make it as a DD
Suggester will be notified if the DD is selected via Note.
There is always a queue in my message center. Please be patient.
DD-ing shall only be awarded to those who haven't received any for the past 3 months.
You can also send suggestions to my partner in crime: ^Helewidis, but remember to only send ONE suggestion to EITHER of us so there's no conflict of interest.

So here goes. You guys may notice that the DD suggestions of late the past couple of months have been raising the bar every time each deviation is featured. That's because we're adopting this QUALITY over QUANTITY. Yes, on a good day, I get over 50+ suggestion, but out of those, only a handful are what I'd call "good".

How do I figure what's good and what's not? Easy. Open your newspaper, magazine, NY Times, Time magazine, Newsweek, or whatever other online-based news site you can think of. Compare.

This is the kind of standards I'm wanting the Photojournalism DDs to be like. Time.com has their Photoessays. Again, compare. That inspires me greatly.

Artists on deviantART who dwells in photojournalism to me are like CNN's iReporters.. providing the eyes and ears of what's happening out there to us here. As advancements are done on deviantART to make your browsing experience a satisfying one, so too are the Gallery Moderators of any other galleries, not just Photojournalism, who want to make our little home here away from home a site that tops others out there!

Basically what I'm saying is if something is newsworthy that I can imagine seeing on the front few pages of any of the publications I mentioned above, then those are worth DDing. That applies to self-suggesters too. And PJ shouldn't only be in black and white, just because newspapers are. Think of National Geographic. Think of Popular Photography. There's alot of colors in them. Think of a photograph so powerful, you feel that you're actually in it. Think of an image that's thought provoking, makes you emote, trembles you, burns you, melts you, makes you dance, sing, jump. Those are the materials we're looking for.

Impress me. Impress my partner in crime: ^Helewidis. Make our day. Make us make your day too! Start digging around your favs, the Photojournalism galleries, you'll find something! Just follow the guidelines, and you're on your way to making someone else's day special.
