During most days, even as bad as the weather can get in this region, the place would still be packed with hundreds if not thousands of people from all walks of life either locally or from abroad. However, not many people ever witnessed how empty the place looked once it's closed. Photo here was taken at the main entrance of Petaling Street at 2am on a weekday. Only a few cars and passerby could be seen mingling about. As ghostly as it seemed, it was definitely a strange awakening to see how eerie a place could look when it's closed. I like the composition of this shot, as far as lighting goes though it is fairly uniform. The leading lines work very well in drawing attention to the shop, but when the eyes find it, there is little to hold the attention. More movement may have been successful in drawing more interest. It is obvious you have a good eye for composition and framing, possibly look for some more interesting subject matter though.
the main subject here is how it is the ultimate opposite of a typical day in Chinatown - emptiness.. but i guess u'r right. I've dabbled with photojournalism featuring movements of sorts but i thought i'd deviate a little from my works this time around to try something minimalistic and simple.
thank you for the sweet and lengthy comments! -- evangeliss yh-hwong photojournalism gallery moderator deviantart, inc. email: estudio@volunteers.deviantart.com Bonnie & Clyde aka ^Helewidis + ^estudio framing is equally important is such a deviation so i thought i'd blindly take this shot from ground-level (since i didnt bring spare clothes to crouch on the ground with my head on the road to look through the viewfinder)... Am glad this turned out well.. -- evangeliss yh-hwong photojournalism gallery moderator deviantart, inc. email: estudio@volunteers.deviantart.com Bonnie & Clyde aka ^Helewidis + ^estudio stady hands you got there
