:: for full view, click on the picture again :: Can We Go Now Puhleeeze . . . You're gonna make a marshmallow out of me, dad! I literally wept when I saw this photo, not coz it's sad, but how it touched my heart to see something which I doubt I'd ever witness again in a million years! Two old men, chatting away like housewives gossipping about each other's neighbors, and a baby (yes, a REAL baby!) stuffed and squished inside the bicycle's front basket! Photojournalism these days depict sadness over the recent tsunamis and earthquakes of South Asia, yet photojournalism with humor seldom gets published as it's rare to get that perfect timing and the chance to witness it yourself as a photographer. The only source of laughing kick I can get from good photojournalism is from Outside magazine on its last page of every issues. Those who never heard of the magazine, you might wanna google up a book called "Bear Waltz" or "Hip Hop Hares" which were published by them from 20 years of Outside humor-photojournalism. Even something as normal to the islanders of Pulau Ketam, which *suzums , *Aikuchi and I visited early last December, could seem to be something worth remembering to a visitor from the outside world. Rural scenes can bring forth so much wonders than anyone could imagine, and being new in photography, it does bring me the ecstatic feeling whenever I see my films turn out the way I want it, or otherwise, yet still retaining an artistic feel to them. Another reason why this shot captures my heart is of how much we've heard about babies having a mind of their own too and when I see this child, many things can be seen running in his mind: "Daaad.. mom's seeing the postman again, did you know? Oh well, what do you care?" ...or "Daaad.. I counted my toes today! Wait, those were my fingers.. oh well..." ...or "Daaad.. I'm bored. Can I pout?" ...add your own caption if you want. I'd love to see what you think the child's thinking! Please support Photojournalism. Check out ^Moonbeam13's Journal for upcoming Photojournalism contests!! I'll definitely be taking part! I'll be away on a working trip out of town tomorrow, January 12th. No deviation(s) will be posted. Disclaimer: Please DO NOT mistake this photo as either the aftermath or before the recent tsunamis of the island, which hit the country and many others in South Asia. This is NOT a tribute. Although one death was reported nearby Pulau Ketam, the island itself and Port Klang were not affected by the quake or tsunami. This deviation, however, may be used as a representation of how fishing villages along the north-western coastlines of Peninsular Malaysia or those of Indonesia, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka were like before the disaster. Please interpret this picture and upcoming ones accordingly. For more information on Pulau Ketam, please check the Journal.

"Moooooooom is he ET or a kidnapper?"
hehehe this is a great shot, i was like WTF is that guy DOING when it loaded haha. Looks like he's on the cellphone or soemthing. And that poor kid just pooped in his diapers and he's like "change me jerk" or something. he could put another child or two in the back basket! haha i can't get over that, it's freakin hysterical, but also just very moving, which is weird for me. i dont'm move much hehe amazing job ET?
I think he's on the cell, yeah.. Cos the baby's just too cute for me to notice otherwise! Took me a fraction of a second to shoot this photo coz i don't want the moment to fade off! Hahahahah! Alot of things can go thru his small mind! Pooped proly's one of 'em! LoL! Rofl!! Ho-shit! Yeah! I didnt notice the back basket too!! OMG U'r cracking me up like mad!!! Thank you!! *Wipes tears off from all the laughing* -- evangeliss yh-hwong photojournalism gallery moderator deviantart, inc. email: estudio@volunteers.deviantart.com Bonnie & Clyde aka ^Helewidis + ^estudio hahahhahahahhah yeah man, if i were you i woulda taken a couple other babies and put them in there for the hell of it hahaha
and E.T. was a movie from the 80's about this goffy lookin alien that some kid put in the backet of his bike and it floated into the sky. weird. look it up, you'll see what i mean I'm heading back there next March with some other deviants..
I know what ET is.. just pulling yer legs! Hahaha! That's what we used to call our damn fierce english teacher when we were kids: ET! Kih kih kih!! E.T... go home.. -- evangeliss yh-hwong photojournalism gallery moderator deviantart, inc. email: estudio@volunteers.deviantart.com Bonnie & Clyde aka ^Helewidis + ^estudio great capture... that's what photojournalism is all about.. capturing details out of everyday life...
I often wanted to do it too, but I am actually too shy to finally pull out the camera and shoot. -- "TERRORISM is the War of the poor. WAR is the Terrorism of the rich, wealthy nations." (Sir Peter Ustinov) ... talking without thinking is like shooting without aiming ... Thank you.. There's so much to learn about photojournalism and with such a broad context, it's the photographer's vision that makes a picture become journalistic to the world.
I don't feel guilty when i shoot, even with a big lense pointing into someone's face.. coz I wanna imprint my memory to print and remember it for a veeeery long time so i can tell my kids.. and my kids' kids of what I experienced. At first it was tricky too, til i had to squeeze my gut and whip out my lense then started shooting. But remember, photojournalism's where u don't touch the scene in any way, meaning u should never ask your subject whether or not u can take their photo. Else it just spoils the ambiance. I'm glad u liked my photo.. Thank you so much for the comment! -- evangeliss yh-hwong photojournalism gallery moderator deviantart, inc. email: estudio@volunteers.deviantart.com Bonnie & Clyde aka ^Helewidis + ^estudio |
